I Can’t Wait to Love You Forever

I’m excited to review I Can’t Wait to Love You Forever by Patricia Eckerman Ambas! As a grandma of three toddlers, I can relate to this delightful children’s book about “playful love” and welcoming a new baby to the family.

The cover design and illustrations, by Amira Daaboul, are modern and relatable so they appeal to children and the adults who care for them.

The dialogue is realistic as well. For example, “DING DONG! A package for mommy!” Now, years ago we didn’t have Amazon or other deliveries to the front door as we do today. But this kid, Benjamin, is a creative genius, posing as a package for Mommy to open as he hides under his lovie blanket. When she opens the package to find Benjamin inside, she cradles him like a baby. Another time a “package” arrives, Benjamin is hiding in a laundry basket. His imagination goes wild as he creates games of opening a package and finding a new baby inside.

Mommy, who is expecting a baby very soon, plays along and shows her love for baby’s big brother as well. The game changes when baby arrives, and the package this time is for Benjamin, who welcomes his sibling and can’t wait to love this baby forever!

A very sweet way to introduce a toddler to the arrival of a new sibling.
